Patience must play a big part in creating these fantastic little worlds. The use of fern and moss play the perfect aesthetic role of scale and have the right temperaments to live within these structures.
I imagine that a light spray of water will keep the moss moist and partnered with just the right amount of indirect sunlight to raise the temperature of the ecosystem would create the ideal humidity for the ferns.
